February 12, 2022 - Careers Around the World & Beyond


The Raleigh (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, International Trends and Services Facet hosted Careers Around the World & Beyond on Saturday, February 12, 2022. It was a virtual panel discussion with C-Suite executives and professionals who have lived and worked abroad and shared insights from their journeys around the world, lessons learned along the way, including why being open minded to career options overseas is an opportunity for all students to consider. The panels included:

Brenda Chadwick has lived and worked in Egypt, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Singapore, and UK as Contracts Director and Contracts Programs Manager for organizations including Hewlett-Packard, Crown Agents, and IntraHealth International. Brenda serves as a Member of Africa University’s Advisory Advancement Development Committee located in Mutare, Zimbabwe; Member, World Affairs Council and International Focus in Raleigh.

Jill Pemberton is the CFO North America, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, a French multinational corporation and conglomerate specializing in luxury goods, headquartered in Paris. In 2009, she relocated to the UK as the Director of Finance Europe for HJ Heinz where she lived and worked abroad with her family for four years.

Mertie Snead is the Senior Director Global Vaccine Safety & Pharmacovigilance Compliance at Novavax, Inc. leading compliance oversight for safety monitoring, evaluation and regulatory reporting of COVID-19 vaccine development worldwide. In 2007, she relocated to Brussels, Belgium as the Global Head of Quality and Risk Management for GlaxoSmithKline while establishing international operations in Asia, Africa/Middle East, Europe and Latin America.

Dmitri Stockton was formerly Chairman, President & CEO of GE Asset Management; a global asset management firm with nearly $120 billion in assets under management focused in private equity, real estate, fixed income, active equities and hedge fund investing. Dmitri lived and worked abroad with his family for a decade in three countries (Switzerland, France, and the UK) where he led businesses across 26 global markets with 40,000 employees internationally.

Door prizes were awarded to the first male and female students who registered and attended the webinar. Both prize-winning students were from North Carolina Central University.
